“I’m much more across this emerging issue than I was before” commented a Prince Henry resident after the Strata Electric Vehicle Charging Workshop 18 July.
The workshop hosted by the PHCA and Randwick Council drew 70 residents from the area eager to learn about the ‘what’, ‘why’, ‘how’ of charging EVs. Judging by the number of questions, people were definitely engaged.
Sam Kelly from the Council gave an overview of Council’s plans for public charging stations and rebates, followed by a comprehensive presentation by Brent Clark on how strata committees can deal with the issue in their complexes. Two local residents were able to provide insight into their experiences as part of a question and answer panel.
The fact is as one panellist remarked – ‘the one thing strata committees can’t do is nothing’.
Over 20% of new cars bought last month were EVs and the price is coming down so strata committees can expect applications for charging facilities. Background information and various options canvassed in Brent Clark’s presentation are attached in a PDF copy of his presentation slides.
The PHCA is very grateful for Randwick Council’s support in putting on this workshop, assisting with the publicity, providing the venue and organising the speaker.
